Mammertsberg stands on one of the most beautiful spots in the whole of Thurgau. All around are rolling hills, down in the valley the shimmering waters of Lake Constance, on the horizon, the Alps of Eastern Switzerland. It's just under 8 kilometers from St. Gallen, and about 75 from Zurich.

 

Fruit in Abundance

A short drive or a somewhat longer walk from Mammertsberg is the Roggwil fruit collection. Just as many varieties of apples, pears, cherries, plums and nuts thrive there on almost 400 trees.

 

Finest Fabrics

St. Gallen was once world famous for its embroidery. Impressive evidence of this can be found in the Textile Museum, which, in addition to handcrafted St. Gallen lace, also houses a large collection of historical fabrics and costumes.

 

Paradise for Golf Fans

Various attractive courses in the area intice you to play golf. On the Thurgau side, for example, the Erlen Golf Club nestled between rolling hills, and the Waldkirch Golf Club on St. Gallen with a magnificent view of Säntis and Alpstein.
